Jobless Claims, Consumer Prices in U.S. Increase



Sept. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Applications for U.S. unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week to the highest level since the end of June to 428,000 in the week ended Sept. 10, figures from the Labor Department showed today in Washington. The consumer-price index increased in August more than forecast by 0.4 percent after a 0.5 percent gain in July, figures from the Labor Department also showed.
