Investment destination China

According to a new report Australia remains the destination of choice for Chinese investment. Australia has narrowly maintained its lead ahead of the the US and Canada. Surprisingly, mining and resources are no longer the main focus.

Russia angered by Cypriot bank levy

President Vladimir Putin says it is "unfair and sets a dangerous precedent," and the country's Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, also spoke out against it:

"We should say this directly," he said. "This simply looks like the confiscation of other people's money. I do not know who the author of this idea is, but this is what it looks like. We are unfortunately acquainted with such practices from Soviet times."

World goes green for St Patrick's Day

The streets of Dublin were a sea of green as young and old turned out to mark the occasion.
It has been a five day affair, with 8,000 visitors from around the world joining in a people's parade.

This year the celebrations are also global. 70 monuments like the Pyramids and Rio's Christ the Redeemer statue have been lit up green.

Prime Minister Enda Kenny has taken 19 of his ministers on a goodwill trip to sell the Irish brand abroad.

Grateful that more than 13 million pints of Guinness will be quaffed across the world in just one day, Guinness is offering a free visit to its Dublin factory to everyone called Patrick.

Well, they might need to spend a little longer in Britain before they get the hang of our interminable rain and cold that seems never-ending to natives, but they filled Trafalgar Square and put on brave faces nonetheless.
