The festival falls on Thursday this year, according to the lunar calendar. One of the criteria for shortlisting the seven couples from among a large number of applicants was - naturally - good swimming skills. And the one and only criterion for victory was the length of the kiss.

Ông sanh ngày 2 tháng 10 năm 1921 tại Bắc Giang, Việt Nam.
Ông là cựu Tổng thư ký Việt Nam Thông Tấn Xã (VTX-VNCH), cựu Giáo sư ban báo chí Đại học Vạn Hạnh.
Lễ tiễn biệt và an táng đã được tổ chức lúc 10 giờ sáng thứ Tư ngày 22 tháng 8 năm 2012 tại nhà quàn Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.
