Heavy rains in Burma have forced tens of thousands of people to flee their low-lying homes.
Search called off for missing asylum seaker boat

Authorities in Indonesia have called off the search for a sinking asylum seeker boat which was said to be heading for Christmas island. A distress call was picked up in Australia but an air search failed to find any sign of the boat.
