Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao welcomed German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Beijing on Thursday, as Germany and other Euro zone nations seek a solution to Europe's sovereign debt crisis.
Wen's opening remarks focused on the success of the economic co-operation between the two countries was having globally.
Trade between the China and Germany reached 180 billion US dollars last year. This is double that of five years ago, and looks to increase to 280 billion dollars by 2015. Still, the Euro zone crisis and the Chinese economic slowdown are not far off the leaders' minds.
